Community Guidelines
Great Nigeria is built on respect, truth, and shared progress. All members agree to uphold these principles:
- Be Respectful — Disagree without disrespect. No hate speech, harassment, or threats.
- Be Truthful — Share information you believe to be accurate. Cite sources where possible.
- Be Constructive — Criticism is welcome when it builds rather than destroys.
- Be Lawful — No illegal content, scams, or calls to violence.
- Be Nigerian — Celebrate diversity. Represent the nation with pride.
Reporting Content
Found something that breaks the rules? Here is how to report it:
- Click the Report button on any post, comment, or listing.
- Select the reason that best matches the issue (spam, harassment, misinformation, etc.).
- Add details if needed. The more context, the faster we can act.
- Submit. You will receive a confirmation and updates on the outcome.
Reports are anonymous to the reported party. False reporting may affect your Trust Score.
Moderation Actions
Our moderation team may take the following actions based on severity:
Minor
- • Content warning added
- • Post hidden from public feed
- • Educational notice sent
Serious
- • Content removed
- • Temporary posting restriction
- • Trust Score reduction
Severe
- • Account suspension
- • Permanent ban
- • Report to authorities if required
Positive
- • Content featured
- • Trust Score boost
- • Verified contributor badge
Appeals Process
Believe a moderation decision was unfair? You have the right to appeal:
- Navigate to /appeals within 14 days of the action.
- Provide a clear explanation and any supporting evidence.
- A second moderator (not the original) will review your case.
- You will receive a written decision within 72 hours.
